Domestic Violence Court Opens

As reported in the Law Times, Monday June 20, 2011, Canada’s first ever integrated domestic violence court has opened at 311 Jarvis St. Courthouse.  The Domestic Violence Court will manage domestic assault cases and provide early intervention in abusive domestic situations.  It will also enhance support for victims.  The project allows parties who have both criminal and family issues the option to have their case managed by a single judge.  This is a two year…
